Jodo Training

Jodo training consists of three main areas of focus:

Teaching methods and techniques vary depending on the dojo and teacher but students will generally begin by learning the 13 Tandoku Dosa (individual practice drills) then the Sotai Dosa (paired practice drills).

Once these have been learned, the student will move on to the Seitei Gata, focusing on specific forms as required for grading purposes.

When the student has reached a certain level (not necessarily dictated by the grade reached), they will be taught the Koryu forms of Jojutsu and auxilliary weapons.
